Altu LDN
"No adult should have to live in a house share for years. It takes its toll on anyone. In the worst cases, it can cause severe trauma to the individual."
Welcome to Altu LDN, where we address the mental health struggles faced by Londoners who are often living in subpar, overpriced shared housing—frequently with flatmates who have undiagnosed or undisclosed severe mental health conditions, personality disorders, or are simply toxic to live with, causing havoc for everyone involved.
With no way to move to a safer place on short notice due to stagnating low wages, the housing crisis, and other barriers,
we are here to offer support when it’s most needed.
We’re here to break the vicious cycle of long NHS waitlists,
GP referrals and re-referrals, and self-referrals that are often dismissed—forcing non-health professionals to advocate for themselves just to avoid being pushed to the bottom of the priority list. And even then, therapy comes with strict limits.
Scrap that!
What we offer is a unique mix of counselling-informed support, signposting, listening support, and practical life coaching without the hefty costs, focusing on root causes and real solutions, not just symptoms like anxiety and depression.
Our aim is to help adults navigate the challenges of living in shared housing for prolonged periods and take practical steps toward improved mental and physical health, as well as a brighter future for those who are struggling.
Note: all booked sessions are held online (Teams/Zoom) or over the phone for now.
