Altu LDN
"No adult should have to live in a house share for years. It takes its toll on anyone. In the worst cases, it can cause severe trauma to the individual."
Welcome to Altu LDN, where we address the mental health struggles faced by Londoners who are often living in subpar, overpriced shared housing—frequently with flatmates who have undiagnosed or undisclosed severe mental health conditions, personality disorders, or are simply toxic to live with, causing havoc for everyone involved.
With no way to move to a safer place on short notice due to stagnating low wages, the housing crisis, and other barriers,
we are here to offer support when it’s most needed.
We’re here to break the vicious cycle of long NHS waitlists,
GP referrals and re-referrals, and self-referrals that are often dismissed—forcing non-health professionals to advocate for themselves just to avoid being pushed to the bottom of the priority list. And even then, therapy comes with strict limits.
Scrap that!
What we offer is a unique mix of counselling-informed support, signposting, listening support, and practical life coaching without the hefty costs, focusing on root causes and real solutions, not just symptoms like anxiety and depression.
Our aim is to help adults navigate the challenges of living in shared housing for prolonged periods and take practical steps toward improved mental and physical health, as well as a brighter future for those who are struggling.

The Background
Altu LDN is not your typical counselling service. We don’t impose session limits, charge extortionate fees, or keep you stuck on endless waitlists. There’s no need for a GP or self-referral, and we don’t just offer basic signposting or one-sided listening services that don’t lead to real change.
Instead, we offer a unique mix of counselling-informed support and practical life coaching that is solutions-focused. We go beyond simply addressing symptoms like anxiety and depression to tackle the root causes of distress. Far too many Londoners are forced to endure shared housing with toxic, difficult, or even unsafe flatmates in subpar living conditions. The severe toll this takes on mental health is often overlooked by conventional therapy—unless you can afford expensive private services, and support groups often fail to address these realities.
This leaves many adults trapped in a cycle of stress, anxiety, and trauma, contributing to a growing mental health crisis. At Altu LDN, we cut through the red tape. Our sessions are available at short notice, conducted online or by phone, and clients choose how many sessions they need.
Our professionals—including trainee counsellors, psychology students, and enthusiasts with real-life experience and local knowledge—offer practical strategies to help you navigate your challenges and take control of your life. We don’t just ease symptoms; we help you address the root causes and find real solutions.
We provide the tools—it’s up to you how to use them.
